CBSE Curriculum

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has updated how children learn in school. This new plan follows India's National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Instead of asking students to memorize textbooks for one big exam, the focus is now on understanding concepts, learning real-life skills, and helping children grow in all areas of life.

6 Main Features of the New CBSE Plan

  • Real-World Questions: Half of the board exam questions now test how well students understand and apply concepts, using real-life examples and case studies. Internal school tests also count for up to 40% of the final marks.

  • Two Board Exams a Year: Students in Class 10 and Class 12 get two chances to take their board exams each year. They can keep their best score, which lowers exam stress.

  • No Fixed Streams: Students no longer have to pick strictly between Science, Commerce, or Arts. They can mix subjects based on their interest—like combining Physics with Economics, or Math with Fine Arts.

  • Skill & Computer Courses: Practical subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology (IT), and coding are taught early so students learn useful modern skills.

  • Learning Three Languages: Students learn three languages in school, including at least two Indian languages, to build strong communication skills and connection to local culture.

  • Holistic Progress Card (HPC): Report cards show more than just marks. They now include self-reviews, feedback from classmates, group projects, and daily behavior.
